Heligoland, Past and Present
Mr Ritsema is a lecturer in economics at a university in Deventer/The Netherlands. He has been studying and visiting small islands all over the world. “Heligoland, Past and Present” tells the fascinating history of a tiny island that once was the smallest colony of England, and it contains accounts of eyewitnesses from various centuries.
The book was helpful for writing my post “Jane Austen, the Captain and the Smugglers of a Tiny Island”.
