Cooking For Kings: The Life of Antonin Carême, The First Celebrity Chef

I always enjoy reading Ian Kelly’s books. In Cooking for Kings he tells the story of the French chef Antonin Carême so vividly you can almost hear pans and pots sizzle on the fire. The book also contains some of Carême’s recipes, so you might be tempted to advance from reading to field research. The book was one of the sources for my post Writer’s Travel Guide: Château de Valençay.
Don’t miss Mr Kelly’s biography on Beau Brummell.
