Mr. Pevsner, a scholar of history of art and of history of architecture, wrote “The Buildings of England”, a 46-volume series of county-by-county guides, from 1951–74. It is still a must-have for every enthusiast of England and architecture. David Neave is the co-author of the 2nd edition of Yorkshire: York and The East Riding.
The book was helpful for writing my post “Writer’s Travel Guide: Burton Constable Hall”, but it is an excellent source to plan a holiday in Yorkshire, too ;- ).
